The beads are hand carved wooden beads with some of the finish worn on these wooden beads from devotional use

it measures approximately 11" x 13-1/2" for the outer mat and has an image size of approximately 7" x 9-1/2"

Though there is some toning and a small indent in one area

Eight strands of semi-precious garnet round beads are individually hand-tied entwine in front with eight individually hand-knotted faux pearls on the opposite side

At the base of the rosary is the Mother of Sorrows medal with the image of Mary on one side and Jesus on the other being crucified

The gold tone metal has a highly detailed rope design spreading form the sides to the very center making this special piece sure to be noticed. This pin dates from the 1950's and the same pin except in a different color is shown in the book 20th Century Costume Jewelry by Ronna Lee Aikins on page 171. This pin measures approx. 2 1 2" in diameter.
